Moon's in Capricorn, Venus previewing her retrograde.... $33 Thursdays & more

The Moon entered Capricorn at 8:25AM EST today (2/19/09) and the Sun entered Pisces yesterday (2/18/09) at 7:47AM EST - if you're getting my Twitter updates you already knew that    And if you're not getting them, then go to www.twitter.com/AstroInsights and sign up to follow- you can do this on the web and check with your computer, or on your cell phone. I post 'what's going on' frequently on Twitter so you're missing the updates, special announcements and offers....like the one I just posted this morning.  The Moon in Capricorn is a 'get serious' couple of days and Capricorn wants to get to the point and make the most of whatever resources are available. So with that mood, here's info to check out!

And while Mercury went direct on 2/1/09, it actually has still been in 'hangover' /shadow period since then. You might be happy to know that will be wrapping up tomorrow (Fri 2/20), and we'll be moving into new mental territory which could also bring new subjects into the conversations as the retrograde territory has been covered fully by now

There is plenty of doom and gloom TALK if you are watching the news, or virtually any media, these days. It could be easy to get swept into the fear and since we've been in that post Mercury shadow that has kept the broken record mode front and center for those who are not consciously deciding what they are going to focus on and speak about. It can feel like a really bad dream version of the movie Groundhog Day.....OR you can choose to detach from the talking heads whose job it is to fill 24 hours of time with 'stuff'.   Like watching what you put into your body to keep it healthy, it's definitely in our best interest to be as discerning with what we let into our minds and consciousness. I like to consider that we may be in training for a spiritual marathon to show how to transform and transmute the toxic information and attitudes with the Light /Source. The sooner we remember that we do have choices, and take steps toward what's on our Wish Lists, the better. If you're spending (a Venus concept) your time, energy and feelings on what you're afraid of, then what kind of return do you expect for your investment?   Venus retrograde is about taking inventory....so you can realize that you are not empty handed!!   If you haven't done a Gratitude Journal lately, this is a great time to start so you can get back to watering your Dreams - not the weeds!

Solar Eclipse in Aquarius in a few hours

In February 2008, we had a Solar Eclipse in Aquarius, and Mercury was retrograde when it happened....and since we are in the same situation now (though Mercury is not in the same place, and the Eclipse is a different degree) - I am reposting some of my Celestial Gazette enewsletter about last year's Eclipse, since the Eclipse happening at 2:55AM EST overnight tonight is happening in the same general area as last year's Eclipse.

Here you go: The Solar Eclipse happening in Aquarius acts as a power surge of sort wherever it's happening in your chart. The message is to detach and get out of your own way....or let go and let 'the Universe' do the heavy lifting! Brilliance, genius, insight...all are available if we're interested....so enjoy the Cosmic Download as your circuits are being upgraded!! The influence will last about 6 months....till we have the next set of eclipses.

The Aquarian cycle gets us in touch with the circulation system in your body and consider it as a good metaphor for allowing the good in your life to circulate as well.....from the material to the emotional aspects of your life. Party in Capricorn - New Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Pluto, Mercury....

As I type this we've got 6 'heavenly bodies' in Capricorn: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter & Pluto - so think of that as some major traffic through one area of your chart/life. The New Moon happened today, and Mars entered Cap this morning...Pluto re-entered Capricorn 11/26....Jupiter has been there since 12/18/07 and is in the home stretch, Mercury has entered the Preview for its upcoming retrograde trip which will include segments in both Capricorn & Aquarius....so we've got 2 just in and 2 getting ready to exit in the next 9 days....oh, make the 3 exiting since the Moon doesn't stay anywhere very long. Moon's in Sagittarius...where the Thanksgiving New Moon was....

The New Moon in Sag was Thanksgiving (11/27/08) and the Moon has come around there again to wrap up that cycle and get us ready for the Capricorn New Moon on Saturday. So, here's where you've been having the opportunity for illumination and growth.

The 'mission statement' for Sagittarius has two variations: "I perceive" and "I see". In this area we deal with issues relating to our tolerance/intolerance, beliefs, attitudes about things 'foreign' to us and hopefully come to understand how our attitudes/perceptions color/create our results /outcomes. Basically, you're going to get what you expect to get...your positive or pessimistic attitude sends out 'a vibrational invitation' to the Universe, which is 'obliged' to bring you results of like kind.

The Sun enters Capricorn at 7:04AM EST - which is why the Solstice is 12/21 ...as this is going on the Moon has been in Libra since Fri (12/19 at 9:23A EST) and will continue trying to keep us on our 'best company behavior' for most of Sunday...though it goes void at 11:57A so if it's just a facade, that'll start to fade and the holiday shoppers moods may get less patient as the day wears on.

The Sun and Moon rendevouzed in Libra on Monday for the New Moon, adding a new surge if illumination on the area of your chart that Mercury has been doing the retrograde dance since 9/24 - ACTUALLY since 9/3 when the 'preview' began. Moon in Virgo....not exactly a party energy for a weekend....

So the Moon has been in Virgo since 9:52 AM EDT Friday (9/26) and I was working away and productive...today - not so much, though I have things I REALLY should be doing, I am now finding the Virgo penchant for focusing on details is getting me into the 'can't find the forest for the trees' mode. It could be a bit of Mercury retrograde effect since Mercury does rule Virgo...taking the usual Virgo mode and re-working it for this go round. By the time the Moon is in Virgo in October, Mercury will be more than a week out of retrograde motion. AND since the Moon is now heading toward an opposition to Uranus later tonight - that's definitely not a 'follow the rules/stay inside the lines' kind of aspect

Moon's in Leo and Mercury is retrograde...in Libra~

The Moon is now in Leo for a couple days so we get to put on our crowns and play/act/create. AND Mercury has started the retrograde process of reviewing and possibly re-doing something - though not right yet. THis is really a chance to listen, relisten to your inner voice, as well as in conversations with other people. Remember, no matter what's going on, it's not a 'final decision' during the next 3 weeks. This is a the time to pause and review, catch up on stuff that's been stuck or in limbo for 2-3 months...and not the time for major purchases (cars/houses/computers/contracts etc) or launching new ventures! You can use it to reconnect with friends/colleagues and do the things you haven't had time for lately. Not the time to try new hair dresser OR even more, NEW RADICALLY DIFFERENT hair style! Sun and Pluto Intensity, Moon in Gemini - 2 for 1 Report special

The Moon has been in Gemini since Friday (9/19 at 11:17PM EDT) and remains there through early Monday morning (9/22 at 1:49AM EDT). This is giving us a predominance of planets in air signs: Mercury, Venus and Mars in Libra and Neptune in Aquarius. So we tend to be more 'in our heads' and in a communicative mode. Doesn't guarantee the conversations, or thinking, end up anywhere specific though. The train of thought changes lanes midstream!

On top of all the stream of consciousness blowing around, the Sun is in the process of squaring Pluto (11:44PM EDT) which can account for any intensity you may have felt/noticed in other people today. Some people could manifest ego issues and just can't stop obsessing about something. This aspect is not 'rare' and it's not long lasting so it's not something to dwell on. Think of it as a cosmic opportunity to make a choice to transform in some area.

Moon just entered Taurus - earth element

The Moon just slipped into Taurus about 9:00P EDT joining the Sun, Saturn and Jupiter already in Earth signs (Sun & Saturn in Virgo, Jupiter in Capricorn). So the grounding now takes over the emotions and allows us to calm down and stabilize things. AND it also gives us the ground to plant seeds in the process of manifesting those ideas and passions that are within you. The Moon is just visiting for a couple days so it's not like this will microwave the dreams into physical form by the end of the week Do enjoy the opportunity to slow down and savor things. Moon in Aries - short attention spans abound

Yes, the Full Moon (9/15) was in Pisces, and then the Moon entered Aries late yesterday afternoon (9/15 @ 5:39P EDT) so the potential to get fired up is increased till almost 9:00P EDT 9/17. So these aren't the days to schedule detail work! Don't take it personally if people don't follow all the way through with things right now!
Since my Sun is in Aries I am pretty familiar with the 'how many irons can I have in the fire' syndrome that everybody else gets to experience 2 1/2 days every month when the Moon goes through Aries, and in that spirit (catch it while you can!) Moon's in Pisces....

With the Moon in Pisces through Monday afternoon, we are more open/sensitive and perhaps gullible and idealistic. The thing to remember is that things may not be as they appear...so don't start investing - time or money right now. The wait and see approach may feel like a cop out, but that's only because you're judging it in third dimensional terms. With Mercury previewing the area it will be retrograding from 9/24 through 10/15, think of it as the first draft of ideas that you'll be asked to review, and perhaps redo, in a few weeks. Right now the emotional tides are increasing as we're building toward the Full Moon (in Pisces) on Monday. This will reflect light on the things that relate back to the area where the New Moon in Virgo took place on August 30. Here's where it turned on the spotlight for each sign:

Gemini - home, family, real estate
Cancer - communication, daily schedule, siblings, information, cars

Don't get attached to any of the feelings that are swirling around. Just let them flow. Our homework with Virgo is to 'keep what's useful, and discard what isn't'. It doesn't mean that all things are trash but when something is no longer useful to you, find a place/person/situation to pass it along to. If you hold onto things that aren't serving you, or helping you serve in a productive way, then they start to bog things /you down - it may not be noticable right away but over time they can turn toxic and slow you down like a computer that's gotten cluttered with programs and files you're not using - especially in the area noted above for your Sun sign and/or Rising Sign. Mercury retrograde Preview started - and here I am!

So I know it's been ages!! I hadn't actually fallen off the planet though it certainly may have seen that way. And we were right in the beginning of the last Mercury retrograde when I last posted...and today (9/4/08) we entered the Preview for the next one...so it's the perfect time to return. Moon in Taurus today and most of Monday

The Moon came into Taurus Saturday evening and will hang out there till 6:06P EST tomorrow (6/2). This energy tends to slow us down to savor, enjoy and appreciate things. We may also just not want to budge from whatever we're attached to. As I type this (2:37P EDT) the Moon is forming a square to Mars which could increase impatience for a couple hours, or bring short fuses onto the scene when others don't want to 'do it your way'. If there's anything you've been trying to get motivated to do, this energy could give you a little boost to do it - if you really FEEL like it's important.

Looking ahead at this week, the Moon will be void for most of the 'workday' (in EDT zone) on Monday, Wednesday & Friday, so plan your major 'stuff' for Tuesday and Thursday (see Cosmic Timing page for specific times). With Moon void of course and Mercury retrograde, Mon/Wed/Fri could be used for contemplation, catching up on things that have been 'piling up' for 1-3 months..... but scheduling your 'heavy duty' appointments on those days pretty much insures you'll come away empty handed no matter how brilliant your presention. And it'll be 'nothing personal'!! The Universe really has a plan and wants to help us learn how to do more in less time when we let ourselves get on the 'divine time zone' of cycles. Our assignment is to let ourselves actually get in the flow! So kick back and relax today unless you know exactly what you want to review **A**

Today the Moon's energy went from focused this morning, to rather constricted mid afternoon, to happily impractical late afternoon...and now the Moon is heading to make the Last Quarter with the Sun which is wrap up aspect of the Taurus New Moon cycle of 5/5/08........it's time to consolidate, pull the energy in and review the last 3 weeks of grounding (in the area noted in the Celestial Gazette newsletter that went out to subscribers on 5/24.... if you didn't get it, you can subscribe here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AstroInsightsCelestialGazette/

I tried to get in this afternoon, and godaddy wasn't coming up....and neither was this site or www.astrologicalinsights.biz - first time I know of that it's happened here...so Mercury is definitely running the show... have you had any manifestions for the first 24 plus hours of the actual retrograde?

The Moon continues her cruise thru Pisces all day with nothing to distract her tomorrow (Wed). Thursday is more active ...I'll be back to talk about what's going on then....maybe sooner **A**

We've had the energy to emotionally detach since late 5/24 (EDT - see Cosmic Timing page - which has of when 'not to do' through the end of July - check frequently for updates into Fall)...this energy has been great for group activities too. THOUGH with Mercury spending the weekend poised to directions I am sure there were lots of last minute changes in plans for the holiday - maybe yours?

With Mercury now retrograde, we've got the next 3 weeks (thru 6/19) to rewind, review and possibly redo what we've been thinking since 5/11. I did cover where this is for everybody in my 5/19 talk...so if you want to know more, you can order the recording, or even set up a session for all the details of what's going on in your chart. In general, just keep in mind that there is NO SUCH THING as a 'final word/thought/decision' during these cycles. So the concept of 'done deal' is meaningless. If you let yourself go with the energy, it can yield big gifts of realization by the time it's wrapping up. In the meantime, keep your sense of humor and just laugh when you read/hear 'major announcements' in the news...and keep it in mind before you're tempted to make any of those yourself
