In case you ever wondered....astrologers go thru the same cycles as everybody else   so even when you love what you do, you may have periods where the tide is out in some area of your life, and no matter how much you'd like to be 'doing more' there, it's just not in you to do it.  Pushing yourself harder just depletes you more, and potentially could manifest as physical issues/disease.  Yours truly has had a bit of that going on for a while, and frankly I'm glad to have Mercury go retrograde now as it seems to be opening doors that are allowing me to 're-turn' here!   You know that 'actions' starting with 're' have a 'green light' during periods of Mercury retrograde!!  Re-view, re-connect, re-think, re-unite, re-whatever    It's the launching of new stuff that tends to veer into the ditch by the time all is said and done (and that may not happen till after Mercury goes direct - 11/17/06 for this one).

We entered the 'preview zone' for our current retrograde about 10/8-9/06 so you've already been 'introduced' to any issues you'll be re-visiting between today (10/28) and 11/17...and if you've been paying attention there really shouldn't be any major surprises!! 

This retrograde finds Mercury in Scorpio, so in general we're in a deep re-examination of the power of thoughts (Mercury) and feelings (water) together.  I realized years ago that 'what we think is what we get'...and then add in your emotions to the thoughts and you are 'sending an invitation' to the Universe, consciously or unconsciously.    Now this is happening in a specific area of your chart, but in general I think it's sending us deeper within ourselves to transform and transmute old, 'dead' ways of thinking so that we can purge our self destructive imprints and old programs!   If you have The Secret dvd, and haven't 're-watched' it lately, absolutely do it during this time... and then make it a productive habit the week of Thanksgiving, starting with the New Moon in Scorpio on 11/20/06. 

Mercury is also connecting with Jupiter as this cycle starts which expands the effects so it's like a magnifying glass is focused on the process we're going thru. It also brings us a spiritual healing of those old programs and imprints if you're open to it.  The challenge is that there really isn't anything to ground us with this right now.  So get your journals and notebooks out, and put your thoughts/feelings down on paper.  The ones you want to release, write a few copies of the list - burn one, and maybe even rip one up and 'flush' it.  Scorpio rules the elimination system....along with the reproductive system.  So whatever you want to elimate, creates 'room'/space to create your new program once Mercury goes direct. 

Mercury is also being challenged by Saturn during this period to get focused and not rush, at the same time Jupiter is saying 'think bigger'!   So these two patterns offer us a chance to weed out the (mental) patterns and habits that restrict our own growth.  You're going to be accountable for your outcomes /results....so take your time and pay attention to what you're thinking/feeling and saying!!

My last entry on 6/30/06 was done in the preview period just before the last Mercury retrograde (7/4-28/06)  so take a look at what you were doing then that you find yourself returning to now!!
